Nails...New color and Then & Now

Hey ladies!!!  I'm a couple days late with this post but I've had a busy couple of days...

So, if you follow any of my social media you know that I change my nail color every week and do weekly manicures.  I'm at a point now where I don't even know what other colors to get.  I'm trying to stop myself from being a polish hoarder, but I honestly need more supplies more than polish. 
Ok, so this week I aimed to stay on course with my Spring/Summer colors and opted for this shimmery yellow color from Sinful Colors: 928 Lets Meet and the accent nail has a bit of glitter from Sally Hansen: 550 Frazzle Dazzle.  I thought the yellow and gold combo would be perfect together. 

I have not done any design or accent nail for that matter in a really long time because I'm not really into glitter polish that much, for one, and two, I can't be perfect at everything so doing designs is not my niche. 

Also below you will find a two week apart look at my nails without polish.  I do this to show if there was any change in length or look of nail.

Here's another Look Inspired...

Ok, so I kept it as simple as one can get with a look, who doesn't love a T-Shirt and Jeans outfit with a nice chic jacket and pumps???  Exactly!!!  So I turned to Zoe Saldana for my inspiration.  Her look, very effortless with a touch of chic.  If you don't know by now, for someone who does not like to be categorized and put in a box, I stand firm on being effortless and chic.  We have a basic white tee,  I chose s v-neck because that's the neckline I favor...a caramel colored jacket,  hers has much more exaggeration in the sleeves though mines does have shoulder pads...my jeans are a darker wash but they work...if you are a woman, there should be, needs to be a pair of pointed toes black pumps in your closet!!!  Lastly, I had to also do that red lip, it says "casual chic just got sexy".  Remember ladies, its all about taking bits and pieces, making it work for you.  We all have the ability to look and feel like a star!!!

Nail Look Of The Week

Hey there!!!  So I just wanted to share my look/color of the week with you.  The shape of my nails remain the same, I'm kind of loving the rounded nail, how do you feel about round nails???  The color I chose this week is Tangerini Bikini from Nicole by OPI.  I love this color for Spring/Summer, I may even take it into Fall.  It's so bright and beautiful, definitely a statement color.  My toes are a jeweled tone green, the colors compliment each other well.  I have on two coats along with my Starting 5 (refer to previous posts).  Hope you enjoy this look!!!  Let me know if you've tried this color before...

Fashion Tips.....

Good day ladies!!!...and Gents, so as I began to get back into Fashion research, my first stop was www.instyle.com and I came across their list of 50 Best Fashion Tips of All Times.  Fashion Tips, truly ones opinion, you end up doing as you wish but you can't say you weren't taught or encouraged to follow suit.  I went through all 50 tips and picked my top 5 that I believe are of utmost importance:

1. Show skin strategically...many women have failed this tip, even myself a time or two...or 3, maybe 4!!!  No one's saying you can't be sexy but for the most part men like to fantasize,  give them something to fantasize about. 

2. Accessorize in brights...we all know I love color!  Nothing confuses me more than a woman buying/wearing all one color, staying so simple and muted to the world.  Speak up!!!  Or at least let the fashion speak for you...wearing an all black outfit??? Add red, or orange,  even pink to that look in your shoes, bag, even lipstick.

3. Consider the wear and care...there was a time when I paid no attention to that little tag on the inside of garment telling you how it should be cleaned,  but once you've washed something that should have been dry cleaned and it shrinks or damages the fabric, you'll pay attention. 

4. Open your mind...don't talk to me about fashion unless you're willing to step outside of that black and white box you get dressed in and are ready to try new things! 

5. Own something leopard...or cheetah, zebra, lion, tiger...own an animal print!  It will save your life in a fashion crunch.  Shoes, bag, scarf, hat, umbrella.

Nail Look Of The Week...

My nail look for this week is completed!!!  First, before we get into this amazing color I chose, let's discuss my Starting 5...

So, I just started using a new nail thickner,  Sally Hansen's Miracle Nail Thickner, I previously used Orly's Calcium Sheild which I love and recommend, it's just I got mine from TJMaxx for $3.99 and its $10 on website but you can order from Amazon for cheaper price but then there's shipping and waiting.  I finally said I will try something else for the time being and got the Sally Hansen product.  I will review in about a month!!!

Also, added back into my mix is the Sally Hansen Maximum Growth.  In the previous post o shared how this and the Hard as Nails Hard as Wraps together gave me amazing results.

After every manicure I use the Deja Vu cuticle oil, previously I was using Orly's Cuticle Care Complex which is also a fave and recommended.  I will start using that again eventually, I just have one I'm waiting to try.  The Deja Vu Cuticle Oil is good it's just extremely oily so you have to let it soak in before polishing for about 5 minutes.

Lastly, my NYC In New York Minute Quick Dry Top Coat...best top coat hands down.  Now the color, Sephora by OPI Is It Pay Day Yet??? ... how perfect for Spring and Summer is this color???  I applied 2 coats, it looks like it will glow in the dark lol...well that's all folks!!!  Until next time...

Let's get NAILed!!!

Today is the first post of many on Nails and Nail Care.  For over a year now I've been doing weekly manicures and naillooks and posting pictures on my Instagram (iamastylisttiadanielle), I am just as passionate about my nails and nail care as I am about Fashion so I've decided to incorporate the two! 

I was once like most and addicted to going to get my nails done and having acrylic on my nails, and then it became costly and there is just something so unattractive to me when you have that look of needing a fill in and can't do anything about it.  At this point the acrylics had to come off, but my nails were dependant on the acrylic so without it they became so weak.  

At this point this is when I had to take it upon myself to retrain my nails and get them strong and healthy, and long because I'm not a huge fan of short nails, longer nails elongate my fingers and I like that.  So, I started using two products that I still use today and they are both from Sally Hansen,  the Maximum Growth and the Hard as Nails Hard as Wraps.  I used the two together weekly and experienced significant change in my nails. 

Ok, present day...I've gone from short to long, from long to longer, back to short and now they are starting to grow long again.  The picture below is from a two week time span, the top was taken two weeks ago and the bottom is this week.  I'm now off to do my manicure and new naillook which I will post once I'm done.....

A Look Inspired 2...

Hey ladies!!!  So continuing on my mission to show you everything you need to put a look together you probably already own.  This Look Inspired was bought to you by Selena Gomez, I've been watching her and her style is amazing, I need to find out who her stylist is!  What made me pull this look was because it's styled just how I like...effortless and chic.  Now, I did not have a black blazer that is waist length so I had to improvise with my Pea Green blazer from Loehmann's, that's the thing you must remember when putting together a Look Inspired, it does not have to be exact, as long as we can see the inspiration that's all that matters!   There are more details on each item on The Fashion Trap on Facebook, check it out...

A Look Inspired...

So, I didn't get to post the end result last evening but here it is!!!  I use the word INSPIRED heavily because as you can see the look isn't a duplicate look.  What we do indeed have is 2 pleated dresses, 2 leather jackets and 2 oversized bags.  Everything I'm wearing was shopped from my closet, no new pieces.  The message I want to get across here is you don't have to go out and spend money on a look that has INSPIRED you,  at least without shopping your own closet first!  This is only the first post on A Look Inspired, I have much more for you.  YAS!!!

Attending a Pop Up Shop...

Hey there!!!  So I know its been awhile,  I wasn't posting because I started working on something new but realized if I wait to post everything elsewhere then what will people read until then???!!!  Things have also been going on in my life and I've just been trying to figure out how to push through and be great no matter what!   Which pushed me to think about revamping everything I'm doing...I've started another Youtube channel so those videos will be linked here.  Also, I will begin posting on my love for nails and weekly manicures,  how i care for my nails, products I love for my nails, reviews (good and not so good) and more. 

So on to the fashion...tonight I will be attending a pop up shop for designer Monika Chiang.  I am super excited because though I'm working on starting my business in fashion, I have not had the opportunity to attdnd many events, that were free or reasonably priced.  This event was bought to my attention by theplushrush on instagram.  So I immediately googled Monika Chiang and saw some great pieces from her so I'm excited to see whats in store for this evening. 

Now, what to wear???  Well I do magazine pulls all the time so I had a few looks I wanted to recreate with pieces from my closet.  I wanted to wear something extremely chic but effortless because as a Stylist this should come easy to me, I never want to look like I try to hard.   One pull was a look on Miley Cyrus, floor length pleated white dress...cropped black leather jacket, and a black oversized bag...so chic,  edgy, and effortless!!! 

Once my look is on and I'm ready to go, I will post...but don't you just love this look???

Inspiration lies in the...........

Cover-Up!!!  That's right, this look was inspired by a new purchase which was the cream and black cover up.  

It was purchased from TJMaxx and is from the brand Tea N Rose.  I wanted this cover up a month ago but at $14.99 but not having at least pockets, I had to put it back.  Yeaterday I came across it on clearance for $12!!!  $3 less was much more reasonable...

Now I usually wouldn't wear baggy at the top and bottom at the same time but I was feeling something free and easy going, plus I hadn't worn these pants in quite sometime...

My leather converses are always a go to when I want to be fashionable but chill

This look is inspired by.......

What inspired this look was my need to switch handbags!!!  Yes, it's little things like that that start my creative process.  

So, I had not carried the red bag in a long time and knew I had tons of running around to do, it's the perfect casual run around bag where you can throw any and everything in but still look chic at the same time.  Also, I wanted to try a few things, I love leopard and red together so the shoe decision was easy...

I always wear pants (I promise to wear more dresses and skirts in the near future) so I wanted to wear my maxi skirt again to be as casual as possible but still slightly trendy.  The tank was a recent purchase, now in the previous post I mentioned I don't like to be too match matchy so the fact that it was a shade of red but not the same shade as the bag was perfect, step outside the box sometimes!  Now here's where I had to have a mental convo with myself, "self is the pattern on this tank going to look crazy with the leopard print in my shoes???" 

NO!!!  Any fashionista on trend knows mixing patterns and prints is on trend, just look at my girl Solange!!!

What's the inspiration???

I never understood the term "throw something on", clothing is a lot more than that.  People work hard at producing a garment for it to be "thrown on".  With that said, time and thought goes into the majority of my outfits.  We shall discuss the inspiration behind the past 3 looks...

The inspiration behind this look was business, I knew I had a meeting and a day party to attend but I didn't want to have to change twice.  The blazer represents the business, while the leather like pants are perfect for a club atmosphere.  Now I'm not a fan of being matchy matchy but it just all worked so well together.

The inspiration behind this looks was the top itself.  The colors of the top do appear a bit Fall-ish but I just found the brightest color in the shirt and rocked bottoms in that color, yellow would have worked as well.  The top has a waistband which I was a bit unsure about but the peasant look of it was very cute!

The inspiration for this look was 2 things, one being I put the top and leggings together as a look last year and it was just hanging in the closet, two being I promised to wear my clutches more, I've always felt like they were a night time accessory and I don't go out so this one has been sitting on the closet since last year too!  The clutch was the chic factor in this casual look.

I know life is a bit hectic at times but try to put a bit of thought in what you are presenting to the world when you step out, you never know who's watching...

What to look for when in a rush...

So I know we've all had those days where we don't quite wake up at the time planned, and then we are rushing about trying to figure out what to wear.

As this was happening to me one day last week, it dawned in me two simple solutions to this situation.

First, you can never go wrong with an all black everything outfit.  Add some color with your accessories and you are good to go!

Secondly, gear your eyes to color!  A colored pant or skirt...most likely you have a white/black fitted tee that you can throw a cardigan over, if not a white or black, a combo of the two will work.....

Lastly, a chic blazer will pull any look together in a matter if minutes, invest in one!  

The next time you are in a hurry and don't have the time to put a lot of effort into your look, this will help you out!

Bye Bye Loehmann's...

But say hello to my new friends!!! Yesterday my mother and I were supposed to go thrift store shopping and to Loehmann's, somehow we only made it to Loehmann's!  

If you aren't aware, they are going out of business after being around forever!  So, because of that my mother wanted to go see what deals they had.  For a store going out of business the sales could be better but that's not to say they aren't good, I mean she did get a $300 coat for $180 minus tax!

Now, I just went along for the ride with no intentions of buying a thing...that didn't last long...first it was the jewelry, I was in need of a bold silver piece to wear with my new bracelet from Bauble Bar, and I was in need of a gold and silver combo (yes the trend continues)...then I went to the clothes in which I need none, but I believe you can never have too many jackets and blazers, it is the easiest way to switch up a look in a matter of moments.

So these were my purchases....

The jacket I didn't post a pic with on because I have an outfit in mind, so how it looks on will have to wait a couple days but it is the most simple, chic piece I own and fits like cinderellas shoe!  The neckwear is bold enough to make a statement but not so much that they will take away from a look.  If you live near a Loehmann's get in there and see what goodies you may find!

What BAUBLE???

Brooklyn representin...

The events of this evening called for this look...now when attending a concert where you will most likely stand all night, heels will probably not be your first choice, but for a LOOK I will sacrifice!  

It's Jay Z's concert and I'm from Brooklyn so I'm rocking my Brooklyn Nets fitted with my Brooklyn NYC 718 shirt from Charlotte Russe and some cut up black jeans and my most amazing Cole Haan shoes which I got from TJMaxx.

Now how can I forget my fabulous crossbody which also turns into a clutch???  It's Rachel Roy...so we have a couple of looks here; Sophisticated Street!
